Revd Verena Breed – President
Verena was first ordained in 1999 at the end of her first curacy in the Lutheran Church in her native Germany. She moved to the UK in 2000, was ordained Anglican deacon and priest in Chester Diocese in 2002 where she served a second curacy and the incumbency of a rural benefice before moving to Bicester in 2014. She is now the Team Rector of Bicester (St Edburg’s Church Bicester town centre, Emmanuel Church in Bure Park, St Laurence’s Church Caversfield, St Mary’s Church Launton, and St Peter’s Church Bucknell).
Verena believes very strongly that our churches are places for the whole community. “St Edburg’s is blessed with a beautiful ancient church building which benefits greatly from the recent reordering. It offers a wonderful meeting space for various events in this town.” There are plans to enhance the church even more to make it an even better place for worship and social activities. Hopefully these changes will open up the use of our church even more.
“St Edburg’s foundation makes an enormous contribution and its work is invaluable. I am very happy to support St Edburg’s foundation the best I can.”
Verena is married to husband Jason and they have two teenage children.

Colin feels passionately about enabling the people of Bicester to appreciate this ancient building and wants to re-establish the building at the centre of the community as it probably was in the Middle Ages.
